Mike Teeto

Director of Small Caps

Mike Teeto, aka Stock Sniper Mike, is a day trading powerhouse and the mastermind behind "The Stock Snipers" trading community. From busboy and gym manager to stock market maven, Mike’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to a career where he calls the shots—trading on his own terms, setting his own schedule and working from anywhere.

It all started in college when he first dabbled in large-cap stocks. But his real breakthrough came when a single trade doubled his account, showing him the market's potential. Then came penny stocks—Mike doubled his account in just one day and never looked back. His passion for mastering patterns and winning trades sparked the idea of local meetups at a South Florida Dunkin’ Donuts with his twin brother Nick and his best friend Alex. This quickly grew into a full-blown online trading community—the more trades they won, the more people showed up to the meetings.

With $500 turned into $425,000 and a growing following, Mike’s transparent and educational approach has earned him respect across trading communities. Now, with the Stock Sniper Team, he’s helping traders of all levels unlock minimal-risk, high-reward strategies while having fun doing it.

Join Mike in the Sniper Room and start mastering the market—whether you're brand new or looking to up your game, he's here to guide you every step of the way.

Mike's trading plan

Why Am I Trading?

I trade because I love the freedom that comes with being my own boss. The flexibility to work on my terms is what drives me!

What is my Approach:

I approach the stock market like a "Sniper." I hunt for a few specific patterns that have brought consistency over the years and only take action when those opportunities arise.

What are my Goals?

I aim to help others see that you can consistently profit in the stock market without prior financial knowledge. Rather than set specific money goals, I focus on sharpening my skills for long-term success. My goal is to maintain profitability over the long haul—trading is a skill you'll have for life once you master it.

Monthly Goal: $8.3K

Yearly Goal: $100K

Long-Term Goal: Reach $1 million in trading profits

What are my Objectives?

To continuously sharpen my day trading skills and ensure long-term profitability. Once you've learned the skill of trading, it stays with you forever, and the market isn't going anywhere!

What Markets Will I Trade?

I trade anything that aligns with "The Sniper Patterns."

What Timeframes will I trade?

As a day trader, I monitor the 1-minute, 5-minute, and 15-minute charts for a micro view. For a macro perspective,  I like to watch the one month/one day, three month/one day, six month/one day, and one year/one day.

What Setups Will I Trade?

I primarily trade five patterns but focus on two main ones.

Entry rules:

The Snipers DO NOT take a trade if these rules do not apply:

  • Must be one of the Sniper Patterns

  • Must be trading more than average volume and over the minimum Sniper volume

  • MUST have a set risk/cut spot

  • Have a Exit/Profit spot

  • Reward/Risk Ratio must be at least 3:1 compared to Risk and Profit spot

Where Will I Place My Stops?

Stops depend on the situation, and I don’t always use them due to volatility. However, if you struggle to cut losses, I recommend placing stops at your risk levels.

Exit Take Profit/Trail-Stop Rules:

We target a 3:1 reward-to-risk ratio. Typically, we aim for a 15% upside and a 5% downside, unless sector momentum justifies changes.

Risk Management Rules:

Before entering any trade, I know exactly how much I’m willing to lose. It's crucial to set a comfortable daily loss limit because losses are inevitable. Accepting them is key to long-term success.

Pre-Market Activities or Routine:

I start my day around 6:45 A.M. (EST) with exercise, meditation, taking out the dog,  and then I get to the screens.  I scan the field, read stock news, and create morning watchlists for the opportunities on the day. Always start the trading day with a Celsius or coffee.

Post-Market Routine:

I chart down my trades for the day and do a quick review on where I could have gone better—win or lose. Settling down after the market depends on the day, but I love to longboard and I usually take a 30-60 min ride everyday after the market. After sitting in front of the screens all day, it is important to get outside so you feel refreshed for the next day!

Trading Tools:

I believe less is more in the stock market—keep it as simple as possible!

  • VWAP

  • Average volume tracker

Review/Trade Journal Process:

Every Wednesday since 2016, I’ve reviewed my trades from the prior week and used Profit.ly to track my performance.

Continuing Education:

Lifelong learning is essential—NEVER stop learning! One of my favorite ways to keep up-to-date is to network with other successful traders. Trading can be a lonely game as you are in front of the screens all day, but there are others out there doing the same thing as you. Having a community of like-minded traders is essential.

I like to read one trading book a month and keep up with other traders on YouTube. I also read The Wall Street Journal, The Business Journal, and CNBC daily.

Discipline & Mindset:

Discipline is the key to trading success. If you don’t stick to your trading plan, you’ll exit the market just as fast as you started. Most people think financial knowledge constitutes 100% of stock trading, but I believe 60% of trading is mindset, while 40% is financial knowledge. I highly recommend daily meditation to keep your mind right throughout the day.

My Golden Rules:

No one ever went broke taking a profit. Remember—trading is a marathon, not a sprint! The stock market will always be there.
